Menurutnya, tidak semua pemutaran musik layak ditarik bayaran, apalagi untuk acara sederhana di kampung.
"Tidak adil jika warung kopi atau pesta pernikahan di kampung dikenakan royalti,” ujar Riefky dalam wawancara eksklusif bersama Direktur Pemberitaan Tribun Network, Febby Mahendra Putra, di program Ngobrol Bareng Cak Febby (Ngocak Febby), di Studio Tribunnews, Palmerah, Jakarta, Selasa (30/9/2025).
"Kalau acaranya di hotel, itu wajar. Tapi kalau kondangan di kampung, masa dikenakan?” tegas Riefky.
Ia menegaskan ada tiga aspek penting dalam ekosistem royalti musik yang perlu dibenahi: lokasi pemutaran musik, sistem penghitungan royalti, dan distribusi kepada pencipta lagu.
“Ketika musik diputar, hasilnya harus sampai ke pencipta dan musisi. Dengan begitu, kualitas hidup mereka terjaga, dan mereka bisa terus berkarya,” jelasnya.
Ia menilai, sistem royalti harus dibuat akuntabel, kredibel, dan real time.
Dengan begitu, setiap rupiah yang ditarik benar-benar sampai ke tangan para pencipta lagu, bukan berhenti di tengah jalan.
Saat ini, Pemerintah sedang berkoordinasi dengan Kementerian Hukum, yang tengah menyiapkan revisi Undang-Undang Hak Cipta, sementara DPR juga aktif mengundang pelaku industri untuk memberi masukan.
