Como su segundo trabajo, Hércules enfrentó a la terrorífica Hidra de Lerna, un monstruo con cabezas regenerativas y veneno mortal. Junto a su sobrino Yolao, luchó en el lodo de un pantano apestoso. Al ver que cortar las cabezas solo empeoraba la situación, Yolao las cauterizó con fuego, impidiendo que crecieran. Ni siquiera la intervención de Hera, que envió cangrejos gigantes, logró detenerlos. Hércules venció, enterró la cabeza inmortal y empapó sus flechas en el veneno de la Hidra, convirtiendo la amenaza en arma.Arte: Mauro Fodra
