Mancano meno di 100 giorni a Milano-Cortina 2026, e il Villaggio Olimpico del capoluogo lombardo si prepara ad accogliere circa 1.400 atleti olimpici e paralimpici.
Edificato da gennaio 2023 al giugno di quest’anno su un’area di circa 60 mila metri quadri nella zona del dismesso scalo di Porta Romana, ha visto sorgere sei nuovi edifici, il recupero di due costruzioni preesistenti di origine industriale e la creazione di una piazza olimpica. Valore totale degli appalti, interamente assegnati a imprese italiane, 140 milioni di euro.
Una volta concluse le due manifestazioni a cinque cerchi, gli appartamenti e gli spazi comuni verranno prevalentemente riconvertiti in uno studentato da 1.700 posti letto e in parte destinati a progetti di housing sociale e a servizi privati.
