Presiden Ukraina Volodymyr Zelensky mengatakan pasukannya berhasil menimbulkan kerugian besar bagi Rusia dalam pertempuran sengit di Donetsk.
Ukraina masih bertahan di semua garis depan, termasuk di Kupiansk dan Novopavlivka.
Namun, Rusia mengklaim telah menguasai beberapa wilayah baru, termasuk desa Novohryhorivka di Zaporizhzhia, serta melancarkan serangan di Kherson dan Sumy yang menewaskan enam warga sipil.
Di tengah pertempuran, Rusia memperingatkan akan menghancurkan rudal Tomahawk Amerika Serikat jika dikirim ke Ukraina.
Ketua Komite Pertahanan Parlemen Rusia, Andrei Kartapolov, mengatakan Moskow juga akan mengebom lokasi peluncuran rudal dan menarget negara pemasoknya.
“Respons kami akan tegas dan asimetris,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu, Presiden AS Donald Trump masih menimbang keputusan soal pengiriman rudal tersebut karena khawatir memicu eskalasi baru dalam perang yang telah berlangsung lebih dari tiga tahun.
