MONSCHAU: Waldbrand im belgischen Naturschutzgebiet! Feuer unmittelbar vor der deutschen Grenze!Monschau (NRW) – Feuer unmittelbar vor der deutschen Grenze! In der Nacht zu Montag hat sich die Lage in Monschau wieder zugespitzt. Die Flammen sind bis auf 300 Meter an die ersten deutschen Häuser vorgerückt, teilte die Stadt Monschau in den frühen Morgenstunden auf BILD-Anfrage mit. „Dabei handelt es sich allerdings um kleinere Brandherde, nicht um die große Feuer-Front“, sagte ein Sprecher nach einer Lagebesprechung am Montagmorgen. Zuvor waren die betroffenen Häuser in den Ortsteilen Ruitzhof und Geisberg gegen 22 Uhr evakuiert worden.
