Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz (CDU) steht massiv unter Druck - von der eigenen Partei, vom Koalitionspartner SPD und von einer AfD, die nach ihrem Wahlsieg im Sachsen-Anhalt gestärkt wie selten auftritt. Ob Bildungspolitik, Rentenreform oder Haushalt - Union und SPD streiten öffentlich, wo sie eigentlich liefern wollten.

Gleichzeitig rückt die Frage eines AfD-Verbotsverfahrens wieder in den Mittelpunkt: NRW-Ministerpräsident Hendrik Wüst (CDU) will eine Bund-Länder-Gruppe einsetzen, die ein solches Verfahren ergebnisoffen prüfen soll - sein bayerischer Amtskollege Markus Söder (CSU) sieht das anders.
