JAKARTA, KOMPASTV - Gubernur Maluku Utara Sherly Tjoanda mengunggah momen saat mengibarkan bendera merah putih di bawah laut.
Sherly mengenakan pakaian khusus dan memberi hormat ke bendera di bawah laut Sulamadaha, Ternate.
"Kita merayakan bukan hanya sejarah, tapi juga perjalanan panjang yang membentuk kita menjadi bangsa yang kuat. Bagi saya, kemerdekaan bukan hanya bebas dari penjajah. Kemerdekaan adalah keberanian untuk melepaskan rasa takut, keraguan, dan alasan untuk berhenti melangkah," tulisnya di keterangan unggahannya, dilihat pada Minggu (17/8/2025).
Ia mengatakan mengibarkan merah putih di bawah laut tahun ini menjadi simbol dari kedalaman tergelap pun, bisa kembali ke permukaan dengan membawa harapan dan cinta tanah air.
"Mari kita jaga kemerdekaan ini dengan saling menguatkan, saling mengasihi, dan saling percaya bahwa kita bisa menghadapi apa pun, selama kita melangkah bersama. Merdeka!" tulisnya menutup keterangan unggahannya.
