Da Gennaio – notizia rivelata dal quotidiano Politico - esiste una chat informale chiamata “Washington Group” tra leader europei di cui fanno parte Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron, Friedrich Merz, Giorgia Meloni, Ursula von der Leyen e Volodymyr Zelensky. I membri scambiano messaggi per coordinare le risposte comuni alle dichiarazioni e alle azioni di Trump.
A fine Giugno 2026 è esplosa l’indagine della Commissione UE su questa chat segreta, dopo il rifiuto di pubblicare i contenuti.
La chat sarebbe il braccio operativo del Terzo Polo: un coordinamento contro Trump e per creare un terzo polo tra Stati Uniti e Cina.
