US President Donald Trump touted his economic record during the longest State of the Union address in history on February 24, crediting his controversial global tariffs, which were struck down by the Supreme Court less than a week ago. "I used these tariffs, took in hundreds of billions of dollars, to make great deals for our country, both economically and on a national security basis," Trump said. Trump, who has excoriated the U.S. Supreme Court's decision striking down his sweeping tariffs, came face-to-face with some of the justices when he delivered his address on Tuesday night. He called the high court's ruling "very unfortunate" and "disappointing" during his speech, but reiterated his administration's longstanding position that alternative legal mechanisms can be used to impose similar tariffs.---
