SIDNEY, KOMPAS.TV - Perayaan Kemerdekaan ke-80 Republik Indonesia terasa kental di Kensington Park, Sydney, Australia. Lebih dari 600 peserta hadir untuk mengikuti upacara bendera dan merasakan semarak 17 Agustus.
Acara dimulai dengan upacara bendera yang dipersembahkan oleh para mahasiswa Indonesia. Setelah itu, layaknya momen HUT RI di tanah air, WNI di Sydney mengadakan lomba tradisional khas 17-an.
Sate dan bakso menjadi daya tarik sekaligus obat kangen makanan khas Indonesia. Perayaan kemerdekaan di Sydney menjadi ajang berkumpul WNI di sana, sekaligus bukti cinta tanah air yang tidak lekang meski jauh dari Indonesia.
