El lunes 18 de mayo, la fiscal del condado de Hennepin, Mary Moriarty, anunció la imputación del agente federal Christian Castro por cuatro cargos de agresión en segundo grado y un cargo de falsa denuncia de un delito. Los cargos están vinculados a un incidente en el que el agente disparó contra Julio Sosa-Celis a través de una puerta. Las autoridades federales se han negado a cooperar con esta investigación, así como con otras investigaciones que se están realizando en Minesota sobre las muertes de Renee Good y Alex Pretti.
Emilia González Ávalos, directora ejecutiva de la organización Unidos MN, que trabaja por la justicia social en Minesota, celebra esta imputación como una victoria para la sociedad civil y el Estado de derecho. “Así es como funciona la democracia. Con separación de poderes y consecuencias materiales para quienes cometen delitos”, destaca Ávalos.
