Benjamin Netanjahu feiert bei der Parlamentswahl in Israel ein überraschendes Comeback. Doch trotz seines Vorsprungs zeichnet sich keine klare Regierungsmehrheit ab. Nahostexperte Professor Simon Wolfgang Fuchs hält deshalb Neuwahlen für wahrscheinlich. Besonders bemerkenswert sei die starke Mobilisierung arabischer Wähler, deren Parteien Netanjahu eine Mehrheit verwehren könnten, ohne selbst an einer Regierung beteiligt zu werden. Zugleich richtet sich der Blick auf den Iran: Netanjahu habe angekündigt, gemeinsam mit Donald Trump den Kampf gegen die Islamische Republik fortzusetzen. Fuchs sieht darin auch eine Wahlkampfstrategie und warnt vor einer politischen Hängepartie, die grundlegende Fragen über Israels Zukunft aufwirft.
