(LaPresse) "L'istituto di terapia cognitivo interpersonale" a Roma ha ospitato la presentazione del libro di Catherine Louise Birmingham, madre di quella che è nota alle cronache come la famiglia nel bosco. Durante il suo intervento, la donna ha ringraziato tutti i presenti, ammettendo di essere "nervosa" in vista della prossima settimana quando, prevedibilmente, arriverà la decisione sul ricongiungimento dei genitori con i propri figli. Stessi figli che, spiega Catherine, "sono quelli che più mi hanno dato insegnamenti nella vita" e che, quando lei gli ha chiesto cosa volessero che dicesse nel libro, hanno risposto: "il fatto che siamo sempre insieme". Poco dopo è intervenuto anche il padre, Nathan, che sulla decisione di vivere così la vita propria ha affermato: "Per noi è stata una scelta facile, noi abbiamo vissuto tutta la vita nelle grandi città, sappiamo bene come funzionano e non volevamo questa vita per i nostri figli", sottolineando come i problemi nelle città aumentano, anche per via dei "social e del bullismo". "Noi possibilmente vogliamo cambiare il nostro mondo", continua ancora Nathan, che ricorda come la loro scelta di autosufficienza sia imitata da moltissime altre persone.
