‘Everyone surprised’ that Timmy the stranded whale lasted this long, says marine biologist | DW News

Timmy the whale was stranded on Germany's Baltic coast. It had been thought that he wouldn't make it - then he was rescued, and weeks later he's still fighting. Now Timmy is being moved towards the North Sea in a specially converted barge - and it's hoped he'll head from there to the Atlantic Ocean. But his future is uncertain and his risky rescue is dividing experts.
DW spoke to marine biologist Fabian Ritter about the rescue operation and the whale's chances of survival.
