Mereka menyebut tambang telah mengancam kawasan Geopark dan ekosistem laut.Sejumlah Aktivis Greenpeace dan 4 warga Papua melakukan aksi dengan menyampaikan interupsi dalam acara Indonesia Critical Minerals Conference 2025 pada 3 Juni 2025 di Jakarta. saat Wakil Menteri Luar Negeri, Arief Havas Oegroseno, berpidato. Mereka membentangkan sejumlah spanduk berisi penolakan terhadap pertambangan Nikel di Papua, khususnya di Raja Ampat.
Sejumlah spanduk itu antara lain bertuliskan, "Nickel Mines Destroy Lives" dan "Save Raja Ampat from Nickel Mining". Selain spanduk, mereka turut menerbangkan banner bertuliskan "What's the True Cost of Your Nickel?".
