Ekonomi dergisi Fast Company Türkiye tarafından 2020 yılından beri yayınlanan ve kurdukları şirketleri başarı ile yöneten “100 Kadın Patron” listesinde üst üste beş kez yer alan Prof. Dr. Yasemin Açık, iş dünyasının önde gelen dergilerinden olan Fortune Dergisi tarafından yayımlanan “Türkiye’nin En Güçlü 50 İş Kadını" listesinde de altı yıl arka arkaya yer aldı.2018 yılında Dünya Gazetesi tarafından “Türkiye’ye İlham Veren 48 Kadın” arasında gösterilen Prof. Dr. Yasemin Açık, 2021 yılında “Anadolu’dan Yükselen Kadın Ödülü”ne layık görüldü. Birçok ödüle layık görülen girişimci ve yönetici olan Prof Dr Yasemin Açık, ilham verici kariyer serüveni üzerine konuşma yaptı. Prof. Dr. Yasemin Açık, Elazığ’da doğdu. İlk, orta ve lise öğrenimini aynı şehirde tamamladı. Lisans eğitimini Hacettepe Üniversitesi’nde, doktora eğitimini ise akademik görevini yürüttüğü Fırat Üniversitesi’nde tamamladı. 1999 yılında doçent, 2005 yılında profesör unvanı alan Açık, 1997 yılında İngiltere’de Nottingham Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Halk Sağlığı ve Epidemioloji Bölümü’nde çalıştı.
2008 yılında kadın girişimci sayısını artırmak ve kadınların toplumdaki yerinin iyileştirilmesine katkıda bulunmak amacıyla Elazığ İş Kadınları Derneği’ni (ELİKAD) kurdu.
Halen ELİKAD başta olmak üzere çok sayıda STK’daki aktif görevine devam eden Prof. Dr. Açık, Türkiye Çimento Sanayicileri Birliği’nde Yönetim Kurulu Üyeliği, Çimento Endüstrisi İşverenleri Sendikası’nda Yönetim Kurulu Üyeliğile Fırat Sanayi ve İş Dünyası Federasyonu Başkanlığı görevlerini de yürütmektedir. Fortune Dergisi tarafından yayımlanan “Türkiye’nin En Güçlü 50 İş Kadını" listesinde de altı yıl arka arkaya yer aldı.
