Dari laporan Time of India, Pelabuhan Eilat di Israel ini sampai memohon bantuan keuangan ke pemerintah karena aktivitas di pelabuhan tak bisa aktif kembali sejak perang Israel di jalur Gaza.
Pelabuhan tersebut telah dilanda serangan Houthi di Laut Merah dan juga serangan rudal dan pesawat nirawak terhadap Eilat oleh pejuang Irak dan pemberontak Yaman.
CEO Pelabuhan Eilat Gideon Golber menuturkan bahwa pelabuhan ditutup sepenuhnya dan tak ada aktivitas apapun selama delapan bulan.
Hal ini lantaran tak ada upaya menghentikan Houthi Yaman di Laut Merah.
Golber menyebut bahwa mereka tak mendapatkan pendapatan apapun dan negara juga tak membantu dan turun tangan.
Diketahui, Houthi membuat mandeknya pelabuhan ini karena mereka menghentikan kapal-kapal yang menuju pelabuhan Israel.
Kelompok Houthi menargetkan kapal mana pun yang menuju Israel dan akibatnya banyak dari negara pengikutnya beralih ke rute yang lebih panjang, yaitu melalui Tanjung Harapan. (Tribun-Video.com)
