"WE THE HISPANOS". ¿ES POSIBLE TRASCENDER LA CONFRONTACIÓN CON LA ANGLOESFERA? CON JL LÓPEZ LINARES
El estreno de cualquier documental de José Luis López-Linares es siempre una buena noticia. En este caso, su nuevo trabajo "We the hispanos" además lo hace especialmente interesante porque aborda un tema complejo y peliagudo: la innegable y poderosa influencia hispana en el gran hegemón mundial de las últimas décadas, Estados Unidos.Con su característico enfoque, López-Linares no solo documenta, sino que también interpela al espectador, proponiendo una revisión necesaria de los relatos históricos dominantes. A lo largo de todo el documental, de una forma suave y matizada pero innegable, el espectador no puede evitar reflexionar sobre la contraposición constante de diferentes perspectivas sobre todos los aspectos que conforman una sociedad: religión, derecho, esclavitud, mestizaje,... incluso música y comida. La pregunta es inevitable: ¿podemos trascender, podemos superar esta confrontación?
En esta ocasión tenemos el privilegio de conversar con López-Linares sobre su nueva obra, sobre sus motivaciones y sobre la necesidad de acudir a la historia para extraer conocimiento que nos acerque a la verdad y nos haga comprender mejor la realidad de nuestro tiempo.
