Dikutip dari Al Arabiya, dua ilmuwan nuklir tersebut bernama Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani dan Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi.
Keduanya dianggap berjasa dalam pengembangan nuklir Iran yang kini sedang digencarkan.
Israel sendiri telah mengonfirmasi bahwa pihaknya menargetkan fasilitas nuklir Iran, pabrik rudal, hingga persembunyian komandan pada Jumat (13/6/2025) dini hari.
Media Iran melaporkan, ledakan mengguncang pusat pengayaan uranium di Natanz.
Kemudian markas besar Korps Garda Revolusi Islam (IRGC) Iran juga terkena serangan.
Selain Jenderal Salami, komandan senior Iran lainnya yakni Gholamali Rashid juga dilaporkan tewas.
Perdana Menteri Israel Benjamin Netanyahu menamakan operasi ini sebagai Rising Lion yang bertujuan untuk menangkal ancaman Iran.
Operasi berlangsung di tengah buntunya perundingan nuklir antara Iran dan Amerika Serikat (AS).
Iran dengan tegas menolak permintaan Washington untuk menghentikan program nuklirnya.
