Da lontano gli vorrei dire che quella frase che mi è sempre rimasta nel cuore, nella mente, quando mio nonno che aveva fatto talmente dichiarazioni di amore da Firenze da doverla sposare, gli vorrei dire 'oggi nonno la sposo anche io' questa meravigliosa città. Darò tutta me stessa per fare il meglio per la nostra Firenze, sarò la sindaca di tutte e tutti i fiorentini”.
Queste le prime parole del discorso post vittoria della candidata dem, Sara Funaro, che da oggi è la prima sindaca donna della storia di Firenze. Funaro, accolta da applausi e cori ‘sindaca sindaca’ da parte degli esponenti dem, ha poi detto: “E’ un fatto sicuramente storico diventare sindaca, prima volta della città, posso portare la mia visione e le mie competenze per costruire una Firenze sempre più adatta alle necessità dei cittadini. Penso una sindaca donna possa portare quel lato di femminilità e maternità che serve a una città come Firenze”. (Corriere Tv).
