Decine di migliaia di persone si sono riversate in strada in tutto il Veneto per il passaggio della 1000 Miglia, la storica competizione automobilistica che dal 1927 al 1957 consisteva in una gara di velocità in linea e che dal 1977 si sviluppa invece quale gara di regolarità a tappe. La 44esima rievocazione storica ha visto passare prima 120 Ferrari di ogni modello e poi le 430 vetture in gara (che devono aver tassativamente partecipato ad almeno una delle prime 24 edizioni). Un’autentica «festa del popolo» (in particolare per gli amanti delle quattro ruote) che ha avuto come protagonista la città del Santo visto che in piazza Insurrezione è stata organizzata per l’occasione una cena per oltre mille invitati cui ha partecipato anche il presidente della Regione Alberto Stefani: «Stiamo parlando della “corsa più bella del mondo” — ha detto — un evento straordinario che consente di valorizzare i nostri fantastici territori.
