Aktivisten kritisieren mangelnde Aufarbeitung und Mitsprache.Nach dem Ende der Assad-Herrschaft wächst in Syrien die Debatte über die Aufarbeitung der Vergangenheit. Besonders der Unternehmer Mohammad Hamsho steht in der Kritik, weil er trotz seiner Nähe zum früheren Regime weiterhin geschäftlich aktiv ist und bislang nicht vor Gericht steht.
Aktivisten beklagen mangelnde Transparenz bei der Verfolgung mutmaßlicher Unterstützer des Assad-Regimes. Zugleich sehen viele Defizite bei Meinungsfreiheit, politischem Pluralismus und der Beteiligung verschiedener gesellschaftlicher Gruppen am Übergangsprozess.
