La sera del 9 ottobre 1963, tutto sembra normale: a Casso e Ertola le luci sono fioche, a Longarone si preparano alla notte.Alle 22:39, il Monte Toc cede: mezza montagna frana nel lago, creando un’onda gigantesca che supera la diga. L’acqua travolge Casso ed Ertola e, in pochi minuti, arriva a Longarone a 80 km/h. Il paese viene praticamente cancellato: 1450 morti, case distrutte, tralicci e ponti divelti.
