Wehrpflicht vor 15 Jahren ausgesetzt – Bundeswehr setzt weiter auf Freiwilligkeit
Am 24. März 2011 machte der Bundestag den Weg zur bis dahin größten Reform der Bundeswehr frei: Die allgemeine Wehrpflicht für junge Männer in Deutschland wurde ausgesetzt. Schon damals gab es aber auch Kritik an der Reform.15 Jahre später ist die Sicherheitslage in Deutschland eine völlig andere als noch im Jahr 2011. Durch den russischen Angriffskrieg gegen die Ukraine ist eine militärische Bedrohung wieder konkreter. Mit einem neuen, vorerst freiwilligen Dienst will die Bundeswehr in den nächsten Jahren für ein Personal von 260.000 aktiven Soldat:innen sorgen, um im Ernstfall wehrhaft zu sein.
