Jemaah wanita tersebut berdalih bendera yang dibawanya hanya mewakili negaranya.
Namun, pemerintah Arab Saudi menilainya sebagai aksi yang berkaitan dengan politik.
Dikutip dari Press TV, penangkapan terhadap jemaah yang mengibarkan bendera Palestina juga terjadi pada Februari 2024.
Saat itu, seorang jemaah wanita mengelilingi Ka'bah sambil membawa bendera Palestina.
Padahal, Imam Masjidil Haram Syekh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais sudah pernah mengingatkan soal etika dan aturan yang harus dipatuhi jemaah.
Mereka yang mengibarkan bendera, slogan, atau meneriakkan yel-yel di tempat ibadah atau situs suci akan ditangkap.
Al Sudais mengingatkan jemaah baik yang umrah maupun haji untuk fokus beribadah.
Jika ingin mendukung Palestina, maka cukup berdoa tanpa harus menampilkan simbol-simbol tertentu.
Saat ini, jutaan jemaah haji dari berbagai belahan dunia sudah tiba di Arab Saudi untuk menunaikan rukun Islam ke-5.
