KOMPAS.TV - Aktivitas tambang nikel di kawasan Raja Ampat, Papua Barat Daya, memicu kekhawatiran akan potensi pencemaran dan kerusakan ekosistem.Saat meninjau langsung PT Gag Nikel di Pulau Gag, Kabupaten Raja Ampat, Sabtu (7/06) kemarin, Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral, Bahlil Lahadalia, mengatakan tidak ada pencemaran lingkungan tahun ini karena proses produksi tambang baru akan terjadi pada 2024.
Pemerintah pun akan melakukan evaluasi menyeluruh terkait izin tambang di Pulau Gag, Raja Ampat.
Saat dikonfirmasi terkait polemik tambang nikel di Raja Ampat, melalui pesan tertulis kepada KompasTV, Komisaris PT Gag Nikel, Ahmad Fahrur Rozi, menyebut lokasi tambang nikel sangat jauh dari kawasan wisata.
