IRAN-KRIEG: Friedensgespräche mit Mullahs ergebnislos! Kein Deal!Islamabad (Pakistan) – 21 Stunden Verhandlungen – doch am Ende kein Deal. Die USA und der Iran haben bei ihren Verhandlungen keine Einigung erzielt. Das erklärte US-Vizepräsident JD Vance am Sonntag. Man kehre nun in die USA zurück. Der Sprecher des iranischen Außenministeriums, Esmaeil Bakaei, erklärte im iranischen Staatsfernsehen, man habe „von Anfang an nicht damit rechnen dürfen, in einer einzigen Runde eine Einigung zu erzielen. Niemand hatte eine solche Erwartung“.
Es habe mangelnde Fortschritte bei den Gesprächen gegeben und die Führung in Teheran habe die Bedingungen der USA nicht akzeptiert, sagte Vance in der pakistanischen Hauptstadt Islamabad, in der die Verhandlungen an diesem Wochenende liefen. Dabei hätten sich die USA äußerst flexibel gezeigt und einen sehr einfachen Vorschlag zur Verständigung vorgelegt, der das beste und endgültige Angebot Washingtons gewesen sei.
Ein Sprecher des iranischen Außenministeriums betonte, dass es mit den USA in einigen Punkten Verständigung gegeben habe. Welche Themen das genau waren, ließ er offen. Die US-Regierung pocht laut Vance auf eine ausdrückliche Bestätigung, dass das Land nicht nach Atomwaffen strebt. Während ein Reporter des iranischen Staatsfernsehens berichtete, die Gespräche würden fortgesetzt, ließ Vance eine mögliche Fortsetzung unerwähnt.
