El libro “Empire of AI” (El imperio de la IA) de la experimentada periodista especializada en tecnología Karen Hao, revela el creciente poder político y económico de las empresas de inteligencia artificial, en particular Open AI. La investigación realizada por Hao expone la explotación laboral que está teniendo lugar en Kenia, el intento de instalar en Chile una planta que le hubiera quitado a la población cantidades cantidades enormes de agua potable, así como numerosos relatos del impacto perjudicial de la tecnología en el ambiente. “Se trata de una forma particular de desarrollo de la inteligencia artificial que está causando mucho daño a nivel social, laboral y ambiental”, afirma Hao.
