Grecia ha visto cómo las llamas de decenas de incendios forestales han dejedo un muerto a su paso y obligado a realizar evacuaciones. Vientos fuertes y secos han azotado el extremo sur del país. Un hombre de 55 años se desplomó y murió mientras luchaba contra las llamas alrededor de su pueblo en la región de Ilia en la península del Peloponeso. Los incendios se han propagado rápidamente al distrito cercano y han arrasado sin control. Se han desplegado más de 1.200 bomberos, asistidos por decenas de autobombas. Mientras tanto, las autoridades han detenido a 13 personas que lanzaron fuegos artificiales desde un yate y provocaron un nuevo incendio forestal en una isla cercana a Atenas.
