Iran restores power to most parts of Tehran and Karaj after suspected attacks on infrastructure
Large explosions were reported in Tehran, with partial power outages affecting parts of the capital and nearby Karaj.Iranian officials said electricity has largely been restored, with substations activated to stabilise supply.
The response suggests Iran has prepared contingency plans to maintain infrastructure during attacks.
Meanwhile, Iran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf accused the United States of planning a ground invasion.
He warned Iranian forces are ready to respond forcefully if US troops enter the country.
A widening trust deficit between Tehran and Washington is undermining diplomatic efforts.
Iranian officials indicate they are preparing for a prolonged war rather than a quick resolution.
They appear to favour a war of attrition to counter US objectives for a swift outcome.
