Auch nach dem Krisengespräch zwischen den USA, Dänemark und Grönland gibt es keine Lösung im Konflikt um die Arktisinsel. Zwischen den Parteien bestehe weiterhin eine „fundamentale Meinungsverschiedenheit“, sagte der dänische Außenminister Lars Løkke Rasmussen nach dem Treffen mit US-Außenminister Marco Rubio und US-Vizepräsident JD Vance.An dem Gespräch nahm auch die für Außenpolitik zuständige grönländische Ministerin Vivian Motzfeldt teil.
US-Präsident Donald Trump hatte schon vor dem gut einstündigen Gespräch in einem Gebäude der US-Regierung nahe dem Weißen Haus klargemacht, von seinem Gebietsanspruch keinen Millimeter abzuweichen. Alles andere als ein Grönland in der Hand der Vereinigten Staaten sei „inakzeptabel“, schrieb Trump auf seiner Online-Plattform Truth Social.
