Timnas U-20 Gagal di Piala Asia U-20, PSSI Didesak Lakukan Evaluasi Menyeluruh
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Timnas U-20 Indonesia asuhan Indra Sjafri harus terhenti di fase penyisihan grup Piala Asia U-20 2025 di Tiongkok. Hasil kurang memuaskan ini membuat PSSI diharapkan segera melakukan evaluasi menyeluruh.Timnas U-20 gagal lolos ke perempat final setelah hanya finis di peringkat ketiga fase grup. Skuad Garuda Muda hanya meraih satu poin dari tiga pertandingan, setelah kalah 0-3 dari Iran, tumbang 1-3 dari Uzbekistan, dan bermain imbang tanpa gol melawan Yaman.
Pengamat sepak bola Roni Pangemanan menilai PSSI harus segera melakukan evaluasi menyeluruh. Menurutnya, persiapan timnas harus lebih terukur, terutama karena training camp jangka panjang yang telah dijalani ternyata tidak membuahkan hasil yang diharapkan.
Kegagalan di Piala Asia U-20 ini juga menjadi alarm bagi PSSI dalam mempersiapkan timnas senior untuk lanjutan kualifikasi Piala Dunia. Dengan sisa waktu kurang dari sebulan sebelum pertandingan melawan Australia, federasi diharapkan lebih matang dan terukur dalam menyusun strategi.
Ketua Umum PSSI menyebut bahwa tim pelatih terus bergerak memantau potensi pemain di Liga 1. Selain itu, tiga pemain naturalisasi baru tengah dalam proses administrasi dan diharapkan bisa bermain saat menghadapi Australia dan Bahrain pada Maret mendatang.
Di bawah pelatih baru Patrick Kluivert, para pemain timnas dijadwalkan berkumpul hanya lima hari sebelum laga kontra Australia. Selain itu, timnas juga masih dalam proses mencari asisten pelatih lokal serta direktur teknik.
Meski waktu semakin mepet, diharapkan timnas tetap mampu meraih hasil maksimal agar peluang Indonesia menuju Piala Dunia semakin besar.
