Agile at a Crossroads - Still a Fit for Modern Product Teams? (ProductTank London)

oin us for our next ProductTank London event on Agile at a Crossroads: Still a Fit for Modern Product Teams?

Agile has shaped how we work for over 20 years — but is it still the best fit for today’s product challenges?

From ethical decisions to complex systems and emergent strategy, product teams are facing problems that Agile frameworks weren’t designed for. Even day-to-day, some rituals feel more routine than impactful.

At this ProductTank, we’ll explore what still works, what might need to change, and what new principles could better support the work we do today.

Join us for two talks offering different perspectives on Agile’s role in modern product teams.

Our speakers:
Tom Clayton - Product Director @ Made by Many

Tom leads Made by Many’s product practice and has over 15 years’ experience in digital product development and transformation. He specialises in guiding teams through complex, regulated environments, bridging strategic vision with pragmatic delivery to help teams launch impactful products.
Since joining Made by Many in 2018, Tom has played a key role in scaling the studio’s largest client partnerships. He previously held senior roles at The App Business, North Highland, and WS Atkins.

Tom's talk:
Agile began as a mindset shift — a rebellion against traditional software delivery, grounded in values of collaboration, adaptability, and respect. But has it lost its soul? We need to motivate the best and most creative young people to work in our industry. Is Agile in its current form best placed to do that?

Roman Pichler - Product Manager Expert

He is the author of four books including Strategize and How to Lead in Product Management. Roman writes an award-winning blog, hosts his own podcast, and has an active YouTube channel and he has developed a range of product management frameworks, methods, and tools.

Roman's talk:
Agile methods like Scrum can support product teams in their product delivery and, at least to some extent, product discovery efforts. But are product discovery and delivery enough? Do product teams require additional practices to achieve product success? And if that’s the case, what are they? What's the missing piece?

Serena Previti - Product Manager @ Trainline, will be our host for the evening.
