A transição tecnológica sempre foi um grande problema. No início do século XIX, quando a iluminação pública no Rio de Janeiro foi modificada de lampiões a gás para lâmpadas elétricas, houve um alvoroço geral.A questão na época era: vão ficar desempregadas as centenas de funcionários que acendem os lampiões a gás? Nos dias atuais, esse tipo de problema acontece agora com o carro elétrico, ele vinga ou não vinga?
A comunidade europeia tinha colocado 2035 como o prazo para se eliminarem de vez as vendas dos carros com motores a combustão. Mas, surgiu outro alvoroço geral, pois os elétricos não eliminam as emissões de CO2.
E com isso surgem novos questionamentos sobre os elétricos: não se prestam para todo tipo de utilização? A produção de baterias ainda é problemática? O elétrico perde muito de seu valor no mercado de usados? Por isso, os países voltaram atrás e já não existe mais a exigência do fim dos motores a combustão em 2035.
