Every great composition begins with a single note, and for Christo Xavier, that note was a dream he nurtured from the tenth grade. In this inspiring talk, he traces his journey from teaching himself music production through online tutorials and creating music on a modest 2 GB computer to becoming one of the most distinctive voices in Malayalam cinema. Reflecting on his early aspirations, his experience assisting Sushin Shyam and his work on films including June, Kappela, Madanolsavam, Journey of Love 18+ and Bramayugam, Christo reveals the creative process behind crafting memorable background scores. Through stories of experimenting with folk instruments, recording ambient sounds in remote villages and transforming everyday objects into haunting sonic textures, he demonstrates that innovation is born not from abundance, but from curiosity, resourcefulness and an unwavering commitment to one's craft.Christo Xavier is an Indian music composer, producer and sound designer known for his distinctive approach to film scoring. He is widely celebrated for his work on the 2024 folk-horror film Bramayugam, for which he won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director ( Background Score).
