Hal itu disampaikannya saat menjamu Perdana Menteri Australia Anthony Albanese di Beijing, Selasa (15/7/2025) lalu.
Kedua negara menekankan pentingnya dialog untuk meredakan ketegangan dan menstabilkan hubungan perdagangan.
Hubungan Tiongkok–Australia sempat memburuk akibat sengketa keamanan dan kepentingan strategis di kawasan Pasifik.
Perbaikan mulai terlihat sejak Desember, setelah Tiongkok mencabut larangan impor lobster batu dari Australia.
Albanese menegaskan bahwa keterbukaan dialog menjadi kunci dalam menjalin kerja sama yang saling menguntungkan.
Pertemuan ini berlangsung di tengah upaya Tiongkok menampilkan diri sebagai mitra stabil di tengah tarif tinggi dari AS.
Australia, yang merupakan sekutu dekat Amerika Serikat, memilih pendekatan pragmatis terhadap Tiongkok.
Albanese dijadwalkan bertemu Perdana Menteri Li Qiang untuk membahas isu perdagangan dan keamanan regional.
Pertemuan ini diharapkan memperkuat hubungan bilateral yang sempat membeku sejak perang dagang 2017.
