Il movimento non è solo un gesto fisico, ma nasce dalla motivazione, dall’armonia e dall’ispirazione. L’Effetto Michelangelo dimostra che il cervello risponde al bello, contesti artistici e armoniosi durante la riabilitazione migliorano i movimenti e il benessere. Curare significa quindi non solo applicare terapie, ma creare esperienze che accendano emozioni e meraviglia, trasformando l’arte in uno strumento di guarigione e crescita. In un mondo in cui il sapere è iperspecializzato e suddiviso in molteplici discipline, a Marco Iosa piace essere trasversalmente curioso, socraticamente ignorante e testardamente avverso alle banalità. Professore al Dipartimento di Psicologia dell’Università Sapienza, sebbene originariamente abbia conseguito una laurea in Ingegneria meccanica seguita da un dottorato di ricerca in Neurofisiologia. È responsabile dello SmArt Lab dell’Ospedale Fondazione Santa Lucia di Roma. È autore di oltre 250 articoli scientifici che trattano di neuroscienze, neuroestetica e neuroriabilitazione spesso combinate con l’uso di sensori, realtà virtuale, intelligenza artificiale e robotica. Nel 2013 ha scoperto il Golden Gait (camminiamo in sezione aurea) e nel 2021 l’Effetto Michelangelo (stimoli artistici riducono la fatica percepita e migliorano la prestazione). Fa divulgazione scientifica e ha scritto libri per bambini e per adulti che sono rimasti curiosi come quando erano bambini.
