Ia menegaskan fokus utama Qatar adalah melindungi warga sipil Palestina.
Melalui wawancara dengan Al Jazeera pada (1/10/2025) , Sheikh Mohammed menyebut rencana gencatan senjata yang diusulkan Presiden Amerika Serikat, Donald Trump, sudah memenuhi tujuan utama.
Yakni menghentikan pembunuhan dan pemindahan warga Palestina.
Doha disebut telah menyampaikan proposal itu kepada tim negosiasi Hamas.
Serta membahas poin-poin penting yang masih memerlukan klarifikasi.
Sheikh Mohammed mengakui ada tantangan implementasi.
Tetapi menurutnya rencana tersebut membuka peluang besar bagi masa depan Gaza.
Sementara itu, sejumlah analis menilai rencana tersebut tidak memberikan jaminan keamanan yang cukup bagi Palestina.
Mereka mengingatkan bahwa jika Israel sewaktu-waktu ingin melanjutkan perang, tidak ada mekanisme jelas yang bisa mencegahnya.
"Hamas telah didesak dan telah berjanji mempelajari proposal itu secara bertanggung jawab, meski belum memberikan jawaban resmi," ujar Sheikh.
