Ada Dentuman Keras dan Bola Api Gegerkan Cirebon, BRIN Duga Meteor Besar yang Jatuh di Laut Jawa

Peneliti Ahli Utama Pusat Riset Antariksa BRIN, Thomas Djamaludin dalam keterangannya menduga bahwa benda tersebut adalah meteor.
Melalui unggahan di Instagramnya, Minggu (5/10), Thomas menjelaskan bahwa kesimpulannya berdasarkan kesaksian warga dan rekaman CCTV.
Thomas mengungkapkan, dirinya mendapat informasi mengenai dentuman yang terdengar di sekitar Kuningan dan Cirebon sekira pukul 18.30 WIB.
Kemudian data dari BMKG Cirebon mengindikasikan adanya getaran pada pukul 18.39 WIB.
Thomas juga mendapat sejumlah rekaman CCTV yang memperlihatkan benda langit yang meluncur seperti meteor.
Terkait video tersebut, Thomas mengatakan perlu adanya verifikasi lanjutan karena tidak jelas lokasi pengamatannya.
Dari hasil analisanya, Thomas menyimpulkan bahwa ada meteor cukup besar yang melintasi wilayah Kuningan dan Kabupaten Cirebon dari arah barat daya sekira pukul 18.35 WIB -18.39 WIB.
Benda tersebut menimbulkan gelombang kejut berupa dentuman ketika memasuki atmosfer yang lebih rendah.
Dentuman ini yang kemudian terdeteksi BMKG Cirebon pukul 18.39 WIB.
Thomas pun menduga, meteor tersebut jatuh di Laut Jawa.
Saat dikonfirmasi, Thomas menegaskan tak ada dampak yang ditimbulkan akibat jatuhnya meteor tersebut.
Ia juga menyatakan bahwa tidak ada jejak yang bisa ditelusuri terkait peristiwa tersebut karena hanya berdasar info media.
Adapun sebelumnya, Dandim 0620/Kabupaten Cirebon Letkol Inf M Yusron memastikan tak ada meteor jatuh di kawasan Kabupaten Cirebon.
Yusron juga menegaskan bahwa peristiwa kebakaran di Tol Ciperna adalah hoaks.
