Kaiserreich mitten in Darmstadt: Reichsbürger-Treffen auf dem Carolinaplatz! Hunderte protestieren!
Auf dem Darmstädter Carolinaplatz haben sich Anhänger der Reichsbürger-Szene zu ihrem sogenannten Treffen der „25 plus 1 Bundesstaaten“ versammelt. Die Bewegung beruft sich auf das Deutsche Reich von 1871 und erkennt die Bundesrepublik teilweise nicht als legitim an. Während bis zu 1.500 Teilnehmer angemeldet waren, zählte die Polizei am Nachmittag rund 200 Menschen.Der Gegenprotest fiel deutlich größer aus: Mehr als 800 Demonstrierende setzten unter dem Motto „Der Kaiser hat abgedankt, die Demokratie lebt“ ein Zeichen gegen die Reichsbürgerideologie. Polizei und Bereitschaftskräfte sicherten die Versammlungen und trennten die Lager.
