Warum die Hitzewelle in Deutschland weitergeht

Das Wetter bleibt schweißtreibend in Deutschland. Extreme Hitze im Westen und Südwesten, die sich nach Norden hin ausbreitet, sagt der Deutsche Wetterdienst nicht nur für Mittwoch voraus. Im Norden liegen die Höchstwerte demnach bei 27 bis 34 Grad, im Rest des Landes werden 32 bis 39 Grad erwartet.

Einzig über dem südlichen Bergland seien vereinzelt kräftige Gewitter möglich, hieß es - ansonsten bleibe es heiter und teils sonnig. Tückisch ist dabei die nicht direkt spürbare UV-Strahlung. Am Mittwoch und Donnerstag werden die bislang höchsten Indexwerte des Jahres erwartet, wie das Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz (BfS) mitteilte.
