Dalam pidato yang disiarkan televisi pemerintah pada Minggu (27/7/2025), juru bicara militer Ameen Hayyan menyebut pihaknya akan menyerang semua kapal yang berbisnis dengan pelabuhan Israel, tanpa memandang negara asal.
Dikutip dari Russia Today (RT), Hayyan menjelaskan Houthi akan mengirim peringatan terlebih dahulu kepada kapal komersial yang hendak menuju Israel.
Jika peringatan diabaikan, maka kapal tersebut akan langsung diserang.
"Fase ini mencakup penargetan semua kapal milik perusahaan mana pun yang bertransaksi dengan pelabuhan musuh Israel, terlepas dari kewarganegaraan perusahaan tersebut," ujar Hayyan.
Hayyan menggambarkan operasi ini sebagai fase baru atau tahap keempat dalam melawan Israel.
Houthi berharap semakin banyak negara yang memutus hubungan dengan Israel dan menekan Zionis untuk mencabut blokade terhadap Gaza.
Menurut Reuters, Houthi telah menyerang lebih dari 100 kapal di Laut Merah sejak November 2023, menenggelamkan empat kapal, menyita satu kapal, dan menewaskan sedikitnya delapan pelaut.
Awal bulan ini, kelompok tersebut menyita dan menenggelamkan kapal curah milik Yunani, Eternity C , dan Magic Seas, yang berbendera Liberia.
Houthi juga telah meluncurkan rudal balistik ke kota-kota Israel, yang sebagian besar telah dicegat.
