Az elmúlt években egymást érik a figyelemfelhívó cikkek arról, hogy a fiatalok nehezebben olvasnak hosszabb szövegeket, hogy a digitális környezet széttöredezi a figyelmet, a mély olvasás képessége visszaszorulóban van. A legfrissebb hazai mérés szerint minden ötödik magyar diák funkcionális analfabéta – vagyis el tudja olvasni a szöveget, de nem feltétlenül érti meg. Egyetemi oktatók pedig arról számolnak be, hogy egyre több hallgató küzd a magyar nyelvű szakszövegek megértésével. Ez már nemcsak oktatási kérdés, hanem kulturális és társadalmi is. Mert ha nem értjük a szövegeket, nehezebben értjük a világot is – és egymást.A Buksóban két olvasáskutatót, Vass Dorotteát, az Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem adjunktusát és Farkas Ferencet, a Fővárosi Szabó Ervin Könyvtár Központi Könyvtárának igazgatóját kérdezzük arról, hogy valóban elindultunk-e a „posztírásbeliség társadalma” felé, és hogy mi az, amit mégis jobban tud a könyv, mint a képernyő?
