Menurut Jokowi, langkah tersebut merupakan bagian dari dinamika demokrasi di era politik terbuka. Ia menilai keputusan para tokoh politik itu sebagai hal yang wajar.
"Ya, ini kan demokrasi ya. Kalau orang ingin ke PSI kan enggak bisa dipaksa-paksa, kan enggak mungkin (dipaksa). Dalam era keterbukaan seperti ini," ujar Jokowi saat ditemui di kawasan Pasar Kliwon, Kota Solo, Senin (13/10/2025).
"Ya, karena apa pindah mungkin karena apa melihat masa depan PSI misalnya, bisa saja. Atau senang dengan suasana di PSI, bisa saja," ucapnya.
Jokowi juga menegaskan bahwa tidak ada unsur paksaan bagi siapa pun yang memilih bergabung dengan partai yang kini dipimpin oleh putra bungsunya, Kaesang Pangarep.
"Tapi sekali lagi, saya melihat tidak ada paksaan apa-apa," tegasnya.

Ahmad Ali – Eks Wakil Ketua Umum Partai NasDem yang bergabung ke PSI pada September 2025 dan langsung menjabat sebagai Ketua Harian PSI.
Rusdi Masse – Eks Wakil Ketua Umum Partai NasDem yang kini menjadi Wakil Ketua Umum PSI.
Bestari Barus – Mantan politikus Partai NasDem yang dilantik sebagai Kepala Badan Urusan Politik DPP PSI 2025–2030.
Andi Ichsan Aswad – Putra Bupati Pinrang sekaligus mantan Ketua DPD NasDem Pinrang yang kini bergabung dengan PSI di Sulawesi Selatan.
Indira Mulyasari – Mantan kader elite NasDem yang pindah ke PSI karena melihat peluang partai tersebut untuk berkembang.
Tiga eks legislator PDIP Solo – Ginda Ferachtriawan, Dyah Retno Pratiwi, dan Wawanto, yang bergabung dengan PSI pada Agustus 2025. (Tribun-Video.com)
