An deutschen Seen werden derzeit tausende tote Kraniche geborgen. In deutschen Ställen werden hunderttausende Hühner, Gänse und Puten getötet - oder gekeult - um eine Ausbreitung der Seuche zu verhindern. Die Vogelgrippe ist zurück in Deutschland und der bange Blick geht in die USA. Denn dort hat das Virus in den vergangenen Monaten auch Rinderherden und vereinzelt auch Menschen befallen.In dieser 11KM-Folge klären wir mit Wissenschaftsjournalistin Daniela Remus, wie die Vogelgrippe nach Deutschland gekommen ist, wie viel Sorge uns der Ausbruch machen sollte und ob uns bald amerikanische Verhältnisse drohen.
