LIVE: India Sends Defiant Message Ahead of Trump's Tariff Deadline | Vantage with Palki Sharma |N18G
As the deadline for Trump's tariffs runs out in less than 24 hours, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent out a strong message to the US. He said India is prepared to take the hit and will find a way through. "Today, a new chapter is being added to India’s Make in India journey. This is a big leap towards our goal of 'Make in India, Make for the World'. From today, electric vehicles made in India will be exported to 100 countries," the prime minister announced while flagging off a new Maruti Suzuki electric car. This Indian-made EV will soon be on roads in over 100 countries. But the timing is critical. Once Trump's 50% tariffs kick in, the auto sector will be among the hardest hit. The big companies may be able to cushion the blow, but for small and medium enterprises, the pressure could be crippling. Meanwhile, the stock market has already reacted — Sensex and Nifty both closed sharply lower today. On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma tells you the full story.---
