En esta charla, el biólogo Diego Gómez explora cómo los sonidos de insectos como grillos, chicharras y esperanzas pueden revelar información clave sobre la salud de los ecosistemas. A través del estudio de los paisajes sonoros y el uso de sensores acústicos e inteligencia artificial, su investigación propone una forma no invasiva de monitorear el impacto humano en la naturaleza. En un momento de acelerada pérdida de biodiversidad, esta charla es una invitación a escuchar con más atención a quienes han estado comunicándonos el estado del planeta desde hace millones de años. Diego A. Gomez-Morales (Biólogo, MSc) es el fundador y CEO de Biodiversity Analytics SAS, una startup colombiana dedicada al monitoreo no invasivo de la biodiversidad utilizando nuevas tecnologías. En su experiencia como analista de datos y ecólogo de paisajes sonoros ha trabajado en múltiples iniciativas de monitoreo de la biodiversidad en Colombia y Estados Unidos. En su trayectoria académica ha estudiado la ecoacústica de las comunidades insectos (grillos y esperanzas) y los paisajes sonoros. Actualmente trabaja en desarrollar soluciones para la medición automatizada de la salud de los ecosistemas utilizando sensores remotos junto al equipo de BioAnalytics.
