Hal itu disampaikan Tom Lembong kepada awak media di Pengadilan Tindak Pidana Korupsi Jakarta, hari ini, Kamis (26/6/2025).
Ia mengatakan bahwa ahli menerangkan pelaku seharusnya sedari awal mengetahui bahwa dirinya melanggar aturan namun tetapi melaksanakan. Menurut Tom, hal itu tidak ada dalam perkara importasi gula yang diperkarakan terhadapnya.
Tom Lembong mengatakan kebijakan impor gula justru punya tujuan kebijakan yang baik yaitu menstabilkan dan menurunkan harga bahan pokok dalam hal ini gula.
Tom juga mengatakan kebijakan tersebut sesuai batas kewenangan masing-masing, baik menteri-menteri bidang perekonomian maupun ia sebagai menteri teknis berwenang dan bertanggungjawab.
Selain itu, dalam sidang hari ini, pakar hukum pidana Universitas Indonesia Gandjar Laksmana Bonaprapta mengatakan bahwa besar kemungkinan terjadi bias keadilan pada peristiwa tindak pidana yang sudah lama terjadi.
Hal itu disampaikannya saat dihadirkan sebagai saksi dalam kasus ini. Bias keadilan itu disebut Gandjar bisa terjadi karena waktu yang sudah lama dapat membuat setiap orang, pelaku atau siapapun yang terlibat, sungguh lupa, bukan pura-pura lupa.
