«C'è già una richiesta da alcuni consiglieri, che io appoggerò senz'altro, per il Famedio». A dirlo è Beppe Sala, sindaco di Milano, a margine dei funerali di don Antonio Mazzi nella basilica di Sant'Ambrogio. Ma il sindaco ora pensa al futuro di Exodus, che «ormai svolge un ruolo importantissimo». Il sindaco ha indicato nella continuità della fondazione la priorità. «Penso che, al di là di una memoria simbolica tipo il Famedio, per onorare don Mazzi bisogna aiutare a far sì che Exodus vada avanti», ha aggiunto. Poi il ricordo del sacerdote, morto venerdì a 96 anni. «Era un vero educatore e sapeva fare questo mestiere. A volte era sopra le righe, a volte sembrava che pensasse un po' alle cose sue, quasi assente, ma in realtà era sempre uno che andava all'obiettivo - ha detto ancora Sala - Non conosceva, e in questo lo invidiavo, il politically correct. Era molto diretto e sapeva cosa fare per ottenere le cose. Un grande educatore che voleva un gran bene a tutti i suoi ragazzi e che con tanta fantasia trovava i modi giusti».
