In Moldau suchen immer mehr Frauen Schutz vor häuslicher Gewalt. Einrichtungen wie Casa Marioarei bieten Sicherheit - doch der Weg zurück in ein selbstbestimmtes Leben ist oft lang und schwierig.Nach 18 Jahren voller Kontrolle, Manipulation, Angst und Gewalt kann Victoria (Name von der Redaktion geändert) endlich wieder frei atmen. Als Überlebende häuslicher Gewalt hat sie die letzten sechs Monate in der "Casa Marioarei" verbracht, einer Schutzunterkunft in der moldauischen Hauptstadt Chișinău. Dort finden Frauen und ihre Kinder Zuflucht und Unterstützung.
Die Opfer erhalten hier umfassende soziale, psychologische und rechtliche Hilfe, die ihnen dabei hilft, ihre Unabhängigkeit zurückzugewinnen. Außerdem lernen sie, wie sie finanziell unabhängig werden können. Dies ist ein entscheidender Schritt, da finanzielle Abhängigkeit oft der Grund dafür ist, dass Opfer in missbräuchlichen Beziehungen gefangen bleiben.
In der Republik Moldau mit seinen 2,4 Millionen Einwohnern wurden allein im Jahr 2025 mehr als 20.000 Fälle häuslicher Gewalt gemeldet. Die Behörden erließen daraufhin rund 6.000 einstweilige Verfügungen zum Schutz der Opfer.
